The longest 10 days ever.......

Brexdon has tons of brown hair and big brown eyes. We are so happy to have him in our arms. The past 2 weeks have been so good, scary, and long.
Day #1 Brex was born and was doing so well he starting eating right away and was such a happy baby. Very alert with those big eyes.

Day #2  Jaundice kicked in and started to get really bad. He also stopping eating and was so out of it the nurses would have to poke his feet to do blood test and it wouldn't even faze him.

Day #3 Sam and I started to worry about him not eating and you could tell he was dropping weight. We had to start feeding with a syringe with pumped milk.  That day they found out he had a blood problem for some reason his red  blood count was really really low. He only had 2/3 the blood his little body was supposed to have. His Hemoglobin was at a 10. (Hemoglobin is the protein molecule in red blood cells that carries oxygen from the lungs to the body's tissues and returns carbon dioxide from the tissues to the lungs. At his age it should have been 17-22. Dr. Staker right away did a spinal tap to check for an infection on his brain and did a urine test to make sure his kidneys and everything were working like they should. The test took 48 Hours to get results. Mean while he had an IV put in to treat for an infection just to get a early start on it if the test were to come back +.... Lets just say that was the longest 48 hours ever. Thank heaven for priesthood blessings.

Day #4 They tested his blood again and his red blood cells had dropped to a 9. By this time you could not wake him up and he was so yellow from his jaundice. Sam and I were questioning just taking him to Primary's to have him check out..
Day #5 His blood count dropped to an 8. Dr. Staker was starting to worry he called Primary Childrens and Talk to there newborn blood specialist to make sure he wasn't missing anything. They said he was doing good and just to keep a good watch on him. If it were to drop one more we would be heading to primary to look into doing a blood transfusion before it started affecting his heart and other organs.
His Test results for infections came back late Monday night.... They came back good!! :)
Day #6 Brex's blood count stayed the same and Dr Staker felt Brexdon should stay on the antibiotic for an infection for 5 days just in case there was a hidden infection some where that was causing the blood problem.
Day #7-10 His Blood was tested every morning and it stayed the same. We were able to go home on Friday the 10th with our little boy... Still not knowing what is wrong... We will be going back once a week for test unless his health changes and I take him in.  As for now we are enjoying our sweet little guy.. Praying he will just get better on his own.

ONE HAPPY DADDY THAT JUST FOUND OUT WE CAN TAKE OUR BABY BOY HOME
